About Us

Ouachita is the name of our Parish (population 150,000), as well as the name of the river running between Monroe & West Monroe. The Twin Cities are marked by beautiful talent & potential and sin-splintered divisions of the “three Rs”: river, race, and religion.

And yet we believe there is a more wondrous “river whose streams make glad the city of God” (Psalm 46:4-5), flowing from the Good News of Jesus Christ, that makes sense of, addresses, and transforms all our cracked, parched hearts here in Monroe and West Monroe.

“If anyone thirsts, let him come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, Out of his heart will flow rivers of living water”

—Jesus in John 7:37-38.

Our name and logo are a working reminder of what it means for us to embody a bridge of connection – of people to God, of people(s) to one another, and of people to our callings in the Twin Cities.
